PP4800-12 PowerPod Pre-Cut for Garmin GPSMAP® 820 / 820XS / 840 / 840XS / 6008 / 6208
PP4800 Series, PowerPods for Power are a better option than bracket mounting. PowerPods provide a clean look for flush mounting with the advantage of a swivel base.
The trunion bracket that is supplied with most electronics is not optimal. PowerPods have the advantage of protecting the back of the electronics from harsh saltwater spray. Most manufacturers do an excellent job of protecting the face of the display from water intrusion with sealed rubber push buttons. The back is generally not waterproof. They are expecting you to flush mount it into the console or a NavPod. The PowerPod also protects the plastic connectors and wires from deterioration caused by long term exposure to UV.
PowerPods for Sail are for mounting on a flat surface. Perhaps under the dodger or aft end of the cockpit table especially on boats with dual wheels.
GEN3 Features:
Hi-Gloss Material
NavPods are manufactured with a custom co-extruded acrylic capped ABS material. NavPod uses the absolute best UV resistant material that provides a very high gloss white finish that matches gel-coated fiberglass. The Gen3 enhancements now include a thicker gauge material that improves strength and provides for better structural rigidity.
Waterproof Seal
All NavPods are manufactured with a double gasket system providing an excellent watertight seal between the front and back of the NavPod for protection of your Marine Electronics. NavPods are made to withstand the harshest of wet offshore boating conditions. Gen3 enhancements include a thicker external silicone gasket with improved flush fit. The internal EPDM gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "compression set" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to service your electronics.
Nickel Chrome Plated Screws
NavPod uses all stainless steel mounting hardware that is supplied with each NavPod. Large round head tamperproof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding ability when tightening than the previous screws. For Gen3 we provide nickel chrome-plated stainless steel tamperproof screws for security combined with a little bling!
Manufacturing Process
Heavy-gauge thermoforming is considered an art since many processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of the tooling. NavPod is fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who utilize CAD programs like Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNC machining centers to produce quality tools with precision tolerances. NavPod has re-designed and re-tooled all of the popular NavPods. NavPod has reviewed all of the former products and selected the best design elements of each and incorporated them in every Gen3 product.
Commitment to Quality
NavPod is committed to producing the best possible waterproof housing for Marine Electronics. Now with two decades of experience under our belt, NavPod is confident you will have years of trouble free service and a long lasting high gloss finish.
Compatible Devices:
Garmin GPSMAP® 820, 820XS, 840, 840XS, 6008 and 6208

Easy plug-and-play installation between Nexus®, Garmin chartplotters, NMEA 2000® and USB
Know the Wind and Water
With a GNX Wind Wired Sail Pack, you will have all the equipment you need to know what’s going on with the wind and the water.
GNX Wind Marine Instrument
GNX Wind gives you the wind data necessary to make confident decisions. Features high-visibility, glass-bonded backlit monochrome LCD display with customizable backlight colors. It also interfaces through the NMEA 2000 network to show 2 data fields and a digital wind rose simultaneously to display true and apparent wind data, steering guidance, boat speed and more. Low power consumption of 350 mW daylight (no backlight) and 400 mW nighttime (mid-level backlight) is perfect for sailboats. Fully customizable user profiles allow you to configure the screen layout to your preferred setting. Display configurations include more than 15 important marine parameters for wind, speed and navigation. It can even wirelessly connect to a quatix® 3 GPS marine smartwatch via ANT technology to stream wind data directly to your wrist.
gWind Wired Transducer
gWind transducer features twin-fin technology with 3-bladed propeller for more accurate True Wind Speed (TWS) in lighter air while the twin-fin design gives a more stable True Wind Angle (TWA). The 3-bladed propeller, unlike a cups design, is always efficient. Combined with optic reading, this transducer provides superior accuracy at low wind speeds and also provides for excellent linearity.
GNX 20 Marine Instrument
The easy-to-read GNX 20 marine instrument display with black digits on a white or color background clearly shows water depth, boat speed through the water, water temperature and 50-plus marine and boat parameters. Its glass-bonded display with anti-glare lens coating provides excellent daytime and nighttime readability with high-contrast digits scalable up to 36 mm.
Airmar DST810 Thru-hull Smart Transducer
DST810 combines precise depth, speed and temperature data with altitude sensing for heel/trim and pitch/roll inputs — which it provides to the NMEA 2000® network and GNX 20 instrument. This multisensor transducer can read depths to 330 feet, offers fast 5 Hz water speed signal output and has an operating frequency of 235 kHz with a fan-shaped beamwidth of 10x44 degrees. Additionally, wireless connectivity to devices with BLUETOOTH® technology enables DST810 calibration directly through Airmar’s Cast app. Advanced speed calibration allows for calibration at multiple heel angles and speeds.
